ISLAMABAD – June 28 (ONLINE) Finance Minister Miftah Ismail has hinted at yet another hike in prices of petroleum products, Online has learnt.
Talking to a private news channel, Miftah said government is planning another price hike for petroleum products by July 1. He said, however, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will issue the final approval once the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) moves the summary.
To a question regarding the possible return of former Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Miftah replied his ministry is PM Shehbaz’s discretion. “If he is not happy with my performance, he can change the minister,” Miftah said.
Finance Minister said Prime Minister has been planning for long term policies with him. “It happens in politics. Sometimes you don’t know about your future, just like it had happened with Asad Umar,” he added.
