Lahore, March 16 (Online): Provincial Minister for Industry and Commerce Mian Aslam Iqbal has said that millions of people have benefited from various schemes of easy loans of Punjab Small Industries Corporation.
Hundreds of thousands of people have got employment with the issuance of easy loans.
Under the Chief Minister’s self employment scheme, 1550290 people were provided loans of Rs.49780 million.
Commenting on the progress of PISC credit schemes, Provincial Minister for Industry and Commerce Mian Aslam Iqbal has said that credit schemes of PISC have been helping people to start their own businesses.
Under Punjab Rozgar Scheme, loans amounting to Rs.73 crores have been disbursed among 1268 persons. He said that easy loan of Rs. 100,000 to Rs. 10 million is being provided under the scheme. Loans of Rs. 30 billion would be disbursed in five years. Employment opportunities would be created for more than 16 lakh households. 48 loans of Rs. 1.2 million were released under HDC Zahir Per Scheme. 110 loans of Rs. 18.4 million were provided under Up Scaling / Handholding of Loanees of CMSES scheme. 168 loans of Rs. 4 million were issued to women artisans of Bahawalnagar and Cholistan. 695 loans of Rs. 81.19 million were issued to skilled and semi-skilled workers under interest free loan scheme. 445 loans of Rs.89 million were issued under the scheme of financial support for cottage industry, he concluded.
