Govt mulls major relief for masses before general elections

Islamabad, May 8 (Online): The federal government has planned to give big relief to the people in the budget before the general elections; a proposal to increase the salaries of government employees by 50 percent has come out, while there is also a plan to significantly reduce the price of petrol and diesel.

Government sources revealed that it is proposed to increase the minimum wage of workers to 40 thousand rupees and to increase the pension by 30%.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has been proposed to increase the salaries of government employees by 50%, which was suggested by People’s Party and JUI-F.

According to the sources, it is also proposed to increase the wages of the workers by 40 thousand and to increase the pension by 30%.

The final decision will be taken by the Prime Minister in consultation with the coalition parties.

According to the government sources, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar will prepare the budget in consultation with the coalition parties of the government.

The concerns of the IMF will also be taken into account in the preparation of the new budget. The Finance Minister plans to present the budget in the National Assembly in the second week of June.

It is proposed to call the budget session of the National Assembly for the federal budget in June. Important decisions will also be taken on development funds with the coalition parties.
