ISLAMABAD, Feb 20 (Online): Government is all set to drop another electricity bomb shell on the people as Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) has filed application in NEPRA seeking hike in electricity tariff by Rs 7.13 per unit.
The increase in tariff has been sought under the head of Fuel Adjustment Cost (FAC) for the month of January.
NEPRA will hear the application on February 23.
It may be mentioned that the most costly electricity was generated from diesel at the cost of Rs 45.60 per unit in January. 10 crore units electricity was generated from diesel.
Power was generated at the cost of Rs 35 per unit from furnace oil.
75 crores units electricity was generated from furnace oil in the month of January.
