Bank of AJK’s remittances crossed record high of Rs 3.5b: CEO

MUZAFFARABAD, Nov 04 (APP):Khawar Saeed, President and Chief Executive Officer Bank of Azad Jammu and Kashmir while chairing a review meeting here on Friday, said that the home remittances of Bank of AJK crossed the highest level of increase 3.5 billion rupees, which was a record in previous four years.

While giving the details, he said that one year ago, remittances were 3.2 billion rupees in September 2021, 1.9 billion rupees in September 2020 and in September 2019, the increase was just Rs 60.2 million.

Khawar Saeed, was of the view that after the year 2019, remittances were increased by about 3 billion rupees.

This increase in remittances is the highest ever since the bank’s inception, which was the reflection of strong confidence of overseas expatriate customers on the Bank of AJK.

The Bank has achieved other business goals while expanding its network in different parts of the state and opined that the financial institution of the state under the patronage of the AJK Government, especially the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Khan Abdul Majid Khan, the supervision of the Bank President and the team work, with the support of the customers, has not only achieved the targets, but has also increased the profits, deposits and assets of the institution, he added.
