LAHORE, Nov 13 (Online): Lahore High Court (LHC) has ordered to immediately change DG Environment for not making better arrangement for eradication of smog.
The court also expressed displeasure over performance of care taker government Punjab.
The court ordered to close the private and government schools and colleges on Saturday.
The court remarked is there only this solution with government to announce holidays in Punjab for eradication of smog.
A single bench of LHC led by Justice Shahid Karim heard the petitions filed by Haroon Farooq and others in eradication of smog case Monday.
Commissioner Lahore and other officers appeared in the court.
Court remarked Commissioner Lahore only talks when he comes here but his performance is nil.
The court remarked the situation is adverse and videos are coming from different areas.
The court directed care taker government Punjab to transfer the deputy commissioners of Sheikhupura, Hafizabad and Gujranwala. We are issuing contempt of court notices to these officers.
The court ordered that the policy of work for home be got implemented two days in a week.
Justice Shahid Karim directed member commission should hold meeting with chief secretary Punjab. Member commission should inform chief secretary about court’s orders in this meeting.
The court adjourned the hearing till Wednesday.
