Artificial rain ends smog in Lahore, Karachi on top in pollution

LAHORE/KARACHI Dec 17 (Online): Due to the artificial rain made in Lahore, the smog in the city ended and Karachi became the first place in the world in pollution.

Health experts advised citizens to wear masks to avoid harmful air.

Meteorological department said that the weather in Karachi is likely to remain cold and dry. Cold winds may increase the intensity of the cold. The humidity ratio in the air is 82%, the winds are blowing from the northeast at a speed of 6 km per hour. The Department of Environmental Protection, Punjab, while releasing today’s air quality index, said that after the artificial rain in the city, the pollution in Lahore has decreased. There has been a decrease and Lahore has moved from first to sixth position in the global ranking.

Air Quality Index (AQI) was 366 at Green Fort 2, 275 at Punjab University Lahore College of Earth. AQI of 366 was recorded at Town Hall Lahore. AQI 242 at Shale Valley Range Road Rawalpindi, AQI 163 was recorded on Lahore Faisalabad Bypass Road Sheikhupora.
