West Indies, England set a new record of sixes in T20 series

LAHORE (Online) T20 series between West Indies and England has captivated the cricket fans with the amazing display of power hitting.

The record 108 sixes in four matches was a new record.

Series represents a historic milestone, as it is the first time in T20 history that more than 100 sixes have been successfully hit in a bilateral series.

In the fourth T20 International, Phil Salt’s back-to-back centuries led England to their highest T20 International score, leading to a 75-run victory over the West Indies and leveling the series.

Phil Salt’s brilliant innings of 119, the highest score by an English men’s batsman in the T20 format, was made in just 57 balls. It featured a brilliant display of power hitting with 10 sixes, as Touring The side scored a mammoth total of 267/3.

Series is currently tied at 2-2 and the deciding final match is scheduled to take place today.

What captivates the spectators the most is the electrifying, high-scoring dynamic, as the batsmen of both teams display a relentless and aggressive brand of cricket, leaving no mercy for the opposition bowlers.

England’s 267 for 3 in the 4th T20I against West Indies not only ensured victory but also surpassed their previous milestone of 241-3 against New Zealand in Napier in 2019. This is 5th highest score in the history of men’s T20 internationals.

Philip Salt’s brilliant innings of 119 not out surpassed Alex Hales’ previous record of 116 not out against Sri Lanka in Chittagong in 2014, making him England’s highest run-scorer in T20 Internationals. In achieving this milestone, Philip Salt not only became the first England batsman to score two centuries in T20 Internationals, but also mirrored the feat of Danny White, who had previously achieved the feat for the England women’s team.

Phil Salt’s back-to-back centuries in T20 Internationals put him in elite company alongside France’s Gustave McKeown and South Africa’s Riley Rousseau, making him only the third male batsman to achieve the feat.

During his brilliant innings, Phil Salt showed his power by hitting 10 sixes to set a new record for most sixes by an England batsman in a T20 International innings.
