Don’t make hasty changes, former cricketer advises PCB head

LAHORE Nov 14 (Online): Former cricketers have advised Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) not to make hasty changes in national team.

They said him to make plan keeping in upcoming T20 World Cup as there is an year gap in ODI matches.

Instead of performance in PSL, the team should be selected according to the format, they said.

According to the sources, former cricketers have met Chairman PCB Management Committee Zaka Ashraf. Ex-captain Younis Khan Sohail Tanveer and Wahab Riaz were among those who met.

According to the sources, the former cricketers advised not to make changes in haste and said that planning should be done keeping T20 World Cup in mind.

According to the sources, some former cricketers said that there is a gap of one year in the ODI matches and should not be worried about it, while advising to give importance to the domestic performers.

They have said that selection should not be made on the basis of PSL. The team should be selected according to the format.

On the other hand, sources said that Captain Babar Azam is expected to meet Chairman PCB Management Committee Zaka Ashraf today (Wednesday).

According to the sources, before the meeting Babar Azam’s return to the country is being consulted with people close to him about his future. Captain Babar Azam is consulting to make a big announcement regarding his future. I have also talked to close people.

Sources further said that the PCB officials are in consultation regarding retaining Babar Azam as Redball captain. Officials are consulting that Babar Azam should remain the captain of red ball for now.
