Saudi Arabia re-elected as head of Executive Council of UNWTO for 2024

RIYADH Oct 21 (Online): Saudi Arabia has been re-elected as the head of the Executive Council of the United Nations World Tourism Organization for 2024.

This decision was taken at the meeting of the Executive Council of the World Tourism Organization under the United Nations.

According to the SPA news agency, Saudi Tourism Minister Ahmed Al-Khatib said that Saudi Arabia will chair the World Tourism Organization Board of Directors during 2023.

During this time, the Majlis-e-Amaila took the best steps involving partnership, individuality and development. Saudi Arabia achieved success in terms of cooperation and common vision among all the member countries of the organization.

The Saudi Minister of Tourism said that all the members of the Executive Council of the World Tourism Organization worked together for tourism. Now we want to continue the leadership role in 2024. We will try to fulfill the hopes and aspirations of the member countries.

Ahmed Al-Khatib said that the Saudi leadership is not only supporting domestic tourism promotion, but also supporting important international initiatives to promote sustainable development.

He added that Saudi Arabia will host the meetings of the 26th session of the General Assembly of the World Tourism Organization during 2025.
