Sri Lankan banned cricketer Danishka, allowed to play cricket

COLOMBO Oct 18 (Online): Sri Lanka has lifted all restrictions imposed on Danishka, who was acquitted of the rape case, after which he will now be eligible to participate in cricket activities and do national duty.

According to Sri Lanka Cricket, Danishka completed the trial in Australia and after reviewing the entire situation, the committee recommended to lift the ban from the cricketer immediately.

The Sri Lanka Cricket Executive Committee has approved the proposal after which Danishka is allowed to play in all manners and is also eligible to represent the national team.

It should be noted that Sri Lanka Cricket had formed an independent committee to investigate the arrest of Danishka.

The cricketer was suspended from all formats in November 2022. Later, in November 2022, Danishka was arrested on rape charges but was acquitted by a Sydney court.
