ISLAMABAD, September 04 (Online): Justice Mazahar Ali Akbar has remarked police is creating problems for people due to its poor investigation.
He further remarked police have to make investigation as per law and not on its sweet will.
Supreme Court (SC) bench comprising Justice Mazahar Ali Naqvi and justice Jamal Mandokhail took up for hearing bail petition of an accused in murder case of one Akbar here Monday.
Justice Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi while reprimanding RPO and DPO Sheikhupura on poor investigation of the case remarked police is creating problems for the people due to its poor investigation. Police is not discharging its duties. Police has to investigate the case as per law and not on its own sweet will. This is a murder case. Someone has been murdered.
RPO Sheikhupura Babar Sarfraz told the court explanation has been sought from IO through shown cause notice in connection with poor investigation.
Justice Jamal Mandokhail remarked how the investigation officer declared the accused innocent on his statement.
Justice Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi inquired from investigation officer on at whose behest he declared the accused innocent.
The investigation officer told the court he wrote report at the behest of Mian Shafqat, DSP Feerozwala.
The court reserved judgment on bail plea of accused Sanwal Yousuf.
Sanwal Yousuf is charged with murdering one Akbar over land dispute in June 2022.
