Series of protests against electricity bills across the country continue

RAWALPINDI Aug 27 (Online): Protests against electricity bills are gaining momentum across the country and instead of paying electricity bills, people have started a movement to burn them.

According to media reports, the public has become enraged after seeing the electricity bills coming this month and instead of paying the bills, people have started a movement to burn them while protesting on the streets. Protests were held in Nishtarrod, Bhimpura, Timber Market and Ranchhod Line in Karachi.

In Rawalpindi, the people also protested against the electricity bills and demanded a reduction in the price of electricity. Citizens also protested against the high electricity bills.

In Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, people also took to the streets. Traders in Ganj Bazaar and Lahori Chowk also set fire to electricity bills while protesting. Demonstrators set fire to electricity bills while staging dharna in Attock, citizens protested against electricity bills in Sargodha and blocked the road by burning bills, lawyers, businessmen and civil society at Kachehri Chowk in Jhelum.
