ISLAMABAD, August 23 (Online): Pakistan will face Afghanistan in the second ODI of the series on Thursday in Hambantota.
The Men in Green are unlikely to change their lineup for the second ODI as they want to stick to their winning combination.
Earlier, Haris Rauf claimed a five-wicket haul as Pakistan beat Afghanistan by 142 runs in the first ODI of the series in Hambantota, Sri Lanka, on Tuesday.
Chasing a target of 202 runs, Afghanistan were dismissed for only 59 runs in 19.2 overs.
Afghanistan were bowled out for their second-lowest score in ODIs as Pakistan take a 1-0 lead in the series.
This was the first five-wicket haul for Haris Rauf in Pakistan colours, who claimed 5-18 in 6.2 overs.
Earlier, spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman helped restrict Pakistan to 201 all out. He removed Azam, the top-ranked ODI batter, on his way to figures of 3-33. Nabi took 2-34 and Rashid 2-42.
Only opener Imam-ul-Haq, who made a sedate 61, Shadab Khan (39) and Iftikhar Ahmed (30) made scores of note on a slow pitch.
Batting first after winning the toss, Pakistan lost opener Fakhar Zaman off the fourth ball of the match for two before Rahman dismissed Azam and Mohammad Rizwan (21) in his first spell.
Haq steadied the innings with a fifth-wicket stand of 50 with Ahmed and put on another 40 with Shadab.
Haq´s 17th ODI half-century featured only two boundaries in an innings lasting 94 balls.
Shadab added an invaluable 35-run stand with Naseem (18 not out) for the ninth wicket before being run out.
