Govt utilising all out resources to combat corona pandemic, says Health Minister

LAHORE – Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid chaired the Cabinet meeting on dengue prevention at the Darbar Hall of the Civil Secretariat here on Monday. Chief Secretary Punjab, Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department Sarah Aslam, Commissioner Lahore Captain (retd) Muhammad Usman Younis, Director General Health Services Punjab Dr Haroon Jahangir attended the meeting while Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners joined via video Link. Representatives officials of the Police Department, DGPR, Livestock, PHA, DHA Higher Education, Special Branch, Civil Aviation, Local Government, Punjab Healthcare Commission and other departments attended the meeting. The Minister said, “All suspected patients are tested as part of surveillance. If symptoms appear, people may contact 1033. Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners must personally supervise and monitor the dashboard of dengue themselves.

Ministers visits PKLI vaccination centre

Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid reached the vaccination centre at the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute (PKLI) to monitor the arrangements for the vaccination of the elderly citizens here on Monday.

Present on the occasion were Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare Sarah Aslam, CEO PKLI, Director PKLI Dr Tazein Zia, Deputy Secretary Rafia Haider and other officials. Dr Yasmin Rashid checked the cleanliness and vaccination process at the PKLI. She took views and feedback from the people who had come to get vaccination. She also visited the screening room and rest area. The Health Minister said, “The PKLI centre has been set up to facilitate residents of the Bedian Road and its surrounding areas. So far more than 100 people have got themselves vaccinated at the centre. Trained staff is providing services to people at the vaccination centre.”
