ISLAMABAD, JUNE 06 (ONLINE): Supreme Court (SC) while directing to allot number on the review petitions filed in respect of the decision against former MD PTV Atta Ul Haq Qasmi allowed the petitioners to change their lawyer under new law.
A 3-member bench of SC presided over by the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Ata Bandial took up the case for hearing Tuesday.
During the hearing of the case Akram Sheikh Counsel for Atta ul Haq Qasmi told the court “I want to tell additional facts in review petitions according to new law. My attendance was not marked despite my appearance in previous hearing.
The CJP remarked don’t say such thing which is not appropriate.
Justice Athar Minallah remarked SC had announced MD PTV case decision under 184 (3). Therefore, the petitioners should take advantage of new law.
Justice Ayesha Malik while addressing the counsel Akram Sheikh remarked “your review petition is pending hearing. The additional points can be filed through miscellaneous petition in review petition which is pending hearing.
The court while allowing Akram Sheikh to appear on behalf of Atta ul Haq Qasmi and Suleman Butt on behalf of Ishaq Dar directed registrar office to allot number to the petitions which have been filed.
The hearing of the case was adjourned for indefinite period.
