Audio leaks scandal: Govt decides to constitute new JC for investigation

ISLAMABAD, May 29 (Online): Federal government has started consultation in connection with completion of investigation on audio leaks scandal despite Supreme Court (SC) decision.

Decision has been taken to place a proposal before the federal cabinet to constitute a new Judicial Commission (JC) which will be headed by former judge of high court or SC.

Sources told Online government has decided to continue investigation into audio leaks.

Sources said this commission will include senior officers of intelligence agencies and representatives of the concerned ministries.

The proposal was given by law minister Azam Nazir Tarar and special assistant Irfan Qadir.

The final approval for formation of new commission is expected following consideration of intelligence agencies reports.
