ISLAMABAD, Sep 13 (ONLINE): Federal cabinet has rejected the summary on increase in the prices of medicines.
The federal cabinet met under the Prime Minister (PM) Shahbaz Sharif Tuesday. The summary seeking increase in the prices of different medicines was presented in the meeting for consideration.
The PM rejected the summary saying permission for scaling up the prices of medicines cannot be accorded in the prevailing situation. Further increase in the prices of medicines is not acceptable in any way.
It is pertinent to mention here that Drug Regulatory Authority has sent summary for enhancement in the prices of over 40 medicines to the ministry of health.
The summary was submitted by ministry of health before the cabinet during the meeting.
