ISLAMABAD-He’s known for his devilishly handsome looks, as well as a dastardly role from a successful live action reimagining of a Disney movie. And now Luke Evans will be returning to the form, after landing the role of the villainous Coachman in Disney’s upcoming live action remake of Pinocchio. The Hobbit actor, 41, will join the Disney+ film that already has Tom Hanks attached as Geppetto. The casting move comes after Evans famously portrayed the egotistical, navel-gazing Gaston in 2017‘s Beauty and the Beast remake opposite Emma Watson and Dan Stevens.
That film broke the one billion dollar mark in the worldwide box office, ushering in a new era for the Mouse House in rehashing its vault of animated classics. The Lion King and Aladdin have both been reimagined in live action as well, and they too have each broken the $1 billion mark. The new Pinocchio, to be directed by Forrest Gump helmer Robert Zemeckis, will go straight to the Disney+ streaming platform, unlike the above-mentioned predecessors which enjoyed big theatrical bows.
