Political rather than economic situation behind the devaluation of rupee: Aisha Ghaus Pasha

ISLAMABAD, July 27 (Online): Minister of State for Finance Aisha Ghaus Pasha has said IMF Executive Board will meet in third week of August hoping that IMF Board will release fund during this meeting.

Talking to media men here Wednesday she said the political situation rather than economic is major cause to devaluation of rupee.

She held that meeting of IMF executive board will be held in the third week of August. IMF board will release the funds on the day of its meeting, she hoped.

Political uncertainty prevails in the country, she said adding the ongoing entire debate is political in the country. Everything is affected when such environment is made.

She pointed out that the arrangement has been made to meet the Pakistan external requirements. Saudi Arabia, UAE, China and other friendly countries will provide loan. Saudi Arabia will extend oil facility on deferred payment.

She informed that governor State Bank will soon be appointed.
