No parliamentarian from treasury benches intending to leave PM: Asad Umar

ISLAMABAD, Feb 13 (APP): Minister for Planing, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar on Sunday said not even a single parliamentarian of the government or its allied parties was intending to leave Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Talking to a private news channel, he said the government was not scared from the opposition tactics because they were trying to topple the incumbent government from day one but they did not succeed in their objectives at yet.

The minister said neither the government nor Speaker National Assembly were afraid from opposition move, adding the opposition was just verbally claiming that they had enough numbers for presenting vote of no confidence against the government but the ground realities were totally different.

He said the allied political parties were fully intact with the government and they were not going anywhere but meetings between the political parties were the beauty of democracy and part of politics.

Asad Umar said Jahangir Tareen was the part of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and he would not go against the government.

Replying to a question, he said Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly and Chairman of the Senate were belong to Balochistan province but there was more room in the federal cabinet for representing the province.

He said the opposition would not succeed against the government as earlier they had badly defeated in the Senate during the passage of the State Bank bill, adding many parliamentarians from opposition parties were in contact with the treasury benches and they were ready to join the government.

To another query, he said the Punjab local government elections had great importance for the government and PTI would get good results in that elections, adding a visible improvement had been brought in agriculture sector during last two years due to prudent policies of the government.

He said the people were well aware of the massive corruption of the PML-N leadership and serious corruption cases were registered against the opposition leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif.
