‘Fake’ democratic govt suppressing journalists’ voices: Khaqan

Islamabad – September 12 (Online): Former Prime Minister and PML-N senior leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Sunday said that government is snatching right to freedom of speech from journalists via its supposed media regulatory authority.

Addressing a rally of journalists which was staging protest against supposed PMDA, Khaqan said that opposition stands firm with journalists. A law is going to be introduced which would snub journalists rights and their freedom of speech, he added.

Khaqan said that a conspiracy has been made to financially destabilize media houses. Many journalists were abducted in the midnight, he claimed, adding that they [government] plans to eradicate truth and facts. They want to suppress journalists.

Former Prime Minister said that dictatorship’s mentality has been imposed on country.

PML-N’s Maryum Aurangzeb while addressing the rally said that she and her party salute journalists who have gathered from all parts of country.
She said that government is planning to curb free journalism and end journalists’ voices through this ‘black law’.
