35% of national eligible population received at least one dose of anti-Covid vaccine: Asad

ISLAMABAD, SEP 01 (ONLINE): Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar has said that target of 40 percent one dose vaccination to the population of 20 out of 24 major cities of the country aging 18 years and above has been achieved.

The four major cities wherein the target has not been met include Hyderabad, Mardan, Nowshehra and Quetta.

Giving a privince wise break up in his tweets on Wednesday, he said sixty nine percent population in Islamabad has received vaccine dose, fifty one percent in Azad Kashmir, thirty nine percent in Gilgit Baltistan, thirty seven percent in Punjab, thirty five percent in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, thirty two percent in Sindh and twelve percent in Balochistan.
The Minister for Planning said that single day vaccination crossed one and a half million mark for the first time yesterday.

He said target of single day vaccination of 40 percent eligible population in 24 major cities till the end of August was fixed.
He pointed out Islamabad is ahead of all cities in terms of vaccination wherein 69 percent eligible population has been vaccinated.
