LAHORE, February 10 (Online): Election Commission (EC) has stopped notification in respect of NA-128 under the orders of Lahore High Court (LHC). EC has received LHC decision in regard to petition filed by PTI backed independent candidate Suleman Akram Raja from NA-128 Lahore. EC reviewed the LHC decision in details. EC directed to stop notification of the respective constituency under LHC order/.
It has been said in this regard that notification regarding victory of candidate from NA-128 be not issued unless final decision of court comes.
On the petition from Suleman Akram Raja, LHC restrained EC from issuing result of NA-128.
Justice Ali Baqar Najafi of LHC announced the decision on the seat of Independent candidate from NA-128 Suleman Akram Raja .
The court issued notice to EC and Aun Chaudhry for February 12.
It is learnt that PTI backed independent candidate Suleman Akram Raja had challenged the step of not allowing him to sit during counting of votes in the court.
The petition of Suleman Akram Raja came up for hearing in single bench of LHC led by Justice Ali Baqar Najafi.
Suleman Akram Raja told the court he was expelled from the office of that returning officer where results of all polling stations were being collected and forms 45 were being filed. I was winning the election with the lead of 80000. But the results were changed.
