IHC extends till January 31 stay order for halting recording of statements of witnesses in Nikah during Iddat case

ISLAMABAD, January 25 (Online): Islamabad High Court (IHC) has extended till January 31 stay order for halting recording the statements of witnesses in Nikah during iddat case against PTI founder and his wife Bushra Bibi.

The matter of non-shariah nikkah against PTI founder and Bushra Bibi came up for hearing before single bench of IHC led by Chief Justice (CJ) IHC Aamer Farooq Thursday.

Usman Riaz Gul and others appeared in the court on behalf of Founder PTI Imran Khan.

The CJ IHC remarked if Suleman Akram Raja is not there then we fix this case for next week.

Rizwan Abbasi counsel for Khawar Farid Monika requested the court to set aside the stay on it. If stay is not abolished then the hearing be adjourned till tomorrow.

The CJ IHC remarked there is no need of any haste. We take it to next week.

The court rejected the plea of Rizwan Abbasi for setting aside the stay and adjourned the hearing till January 31.
