Tom wanted to do something special for his wife, Lisa, on their anniversary.
So he spent all week secretly learning how to cook a fancy dinner. He watched videos, bought expensive ingredients, and even practiced folding napkins into little swans.
The big night arrived.
Lisa came home and was shocked to find candles on the table, soft music playing, and Tom wearing an apron.
“Wow!” she said. “You did all this for me?”
Tom smiled proudly. “Every bit of it.”
They sat down to eat.
Lisa took one bite of the steak and politely asked, “Honey… did you follow a recipe?”
“Of course,” Tom replied.
“Then why does it taste a little… unusual?”
Tom grinned.
“Because I combined three recipes.”
“Why?”
“I wanted the best parts of each one.”
Lisa raised an eyebrow. “Which recipes?”
Tom pulled out his notes.
“One was for steak, one was for lasagna…”
“And the third?”
Tom looked down.
“A chocolate cake.”
Lisa stared at him for a moment.
“So that’s why the mashed potatoes are sweet?”
Tom nodded.
“And why there’s tomato sauce on the brownies?”
Another nod.
Lisa burst out laughing.
“Well,” she said, reaching for another bite, “at least now I know what true love tastes like.”
Tom smiled. “Really?”
“Yep.”
“What does it taste like?”
Lisa grinned.
“A complete disaster… that took a lot of effort.” 😄🍽️❤️
