A wealthy couple in London hired a new housemaid named Mary.
She was excellent at cleaning, cooking, and organizing the house…

She couldn’t resist eavesdropping on every conversation between the husband and wife.
Whenever they started talking, she’d quietly stop dusting, hide behind a door, or pretend to water the plants while listening to every single word.
One evening, the wife looked at her husband and whispered,
“Darling… I have a little surprise for you tonight.”
Mary nearly dropped the tea tray.
She slowly moved closer to the kitchen door.
The husband smiled.
“Really? What kind of surprise?”
The wife replied,
“You’ll find out after dinner.”
Mary’s curiosity exploded.
She finished her work at record speed, but instead of going home, she secretly hid behind the hallway curtain to hear the rest.
A few minutes later, the wife handed her husband a small wrapped box.

He hugged his wife and happily said,
“This is the best surprise ever!”
Mary sighed in disappointment.
The next morning, she couldn’t hold it in anymore.
She told the wife,
“Madam… I stayed an extra hour last night waiting to hear your surprise. Honestly… I expected something much more exciting than a watch!”
The wife stared at her in complete shock.
Then she smiled and replied,
“Mary… if you’d spent as much time cleaning as you spent listening, you would’ve gone home on time… and your imagination wouldn’t have worked overtime!” 😂🤣
