Beloved TV Actress Passed Away; National Association of Actors Announced


The National Association of Actors (ANDA) has announced the death of Bárbara Gómez García, a beloved Mexican actress who left a lasting impact on television, especially on Televisa. Affectionately known as ‘Barbarita,’ her career spanned over five decades, with appearances in numerous classic telenovelas during Mexico’s golden era of television.

“The National Association of Actors and Actresses deeply mourns the passing of our colleague Bárbara Gómez García, ‘Barbarita Gómez,’ a member of our union. Our condolences to her family, friends, and colleagues. Rest in peace,” reads the social media statement, which features a photo of the actress.

 

The announcement received heartfelt messages from association members wishing the actress eternal peace and offering condolences to her family in this time of loss.

Bárbara Gómez began her artistic journey in the late 1960s when she joined Televisa. Her talent quickly earned her a place in iconic and memorable productions.

Among her standout works are telenovelas such as ‘Médicos, línea de vida,’ where she played ‘Estelita; ‘Por amar sin ley;’ and ‘Mi adorable maldición,’ where she portrayed Altagracia. She also had a significant presence in the unit program ‘Mujer, casos de la vida real,’ appearing in at least 19 episodes that resonated deeply with audiences.
