An old priest and an old nun were sitting on a park bench after a church fundraiser.
The priest sighed deeply and said, “Sister Mary, do you ever wonder what life would have been like if we had married someone and raised a family?”
The nun smiled. “Sometimes. Especially when I see couples holding hands.”
The priest nodded. “I occasionally wonder what I missed.”
The nun chuckled. “You mean romance?”
“Romance,” he replied. “And all those things married people are always smiling about.”
The nun leaned closer and whispered, “You mean… the bedroom part?”
The priest blushed. “Well… yes.”
They sat quietly for a moment.
Finally, the nun said, “Father, I think we can stop wondering.”
The priest looked surprised. “Really? How?”
The nun pointed toward a young married couple chasing three screaming children through the park while arguing about bills, groceries, and whose turn it was to change diapers.
The priest watched for a minute and nodded thoughtfully.
“You know, Sister,” he said, “I suddenly feel much better about my life choices.”
The nun grinned.
“Me too. And judging by their faces, they’re the ones wondering what they missed!” 😄
