Her daughter noticed.
“Mom, why are you dressing up at night?”
Martha smiled innocently.
“Oh, I’ve just been chatting with Mr. Wilson next door.”
“The old guy with the hearing aid?”
“Yes,” Martha sighed dreamily. “And let me tell you… when a man can’t hear properly, he agrees with everything.”
A week later, the daughter peeked out the window at midnight and nearly dropped her tea.
There was Martha sneaking across the lawn in a silk robe carrying a casserole dish.
The next morning, the daughter confronted her.
“Mom! Were you at Mr. Wilson’s house all night?”
Martha grinned.
“Well dear… at our age, we’re not exactly breaking beds anymore.”
“So what were you doing?”
Martha winked.
“Mostly comparing medications… and seeing whose pacemaker could handle excitement better.”
The daughter groaned.
“Mom!”
Martha sipped her coffee calmly.
“Listen sweetheart… when you’re young, you stay up for passion.
When you’re old, you stay up because somebody forgot where they left their teeth.”🤣😂
