Chairperson National Commission for Women’s Dignity Nilufar Bakhtiar’s letter to CJP

ISLAMABAD Oct 22 (Online): Chairperson National Commission for Women’s Dignity Nilufar Bakhtiar has appealed to Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa to play a role in preventing the increasing incidents of gender violence against women.

Nilufar Bakhtiar has written a letter to the Chief Justice of Pakistan.
The letter was written on the birthday of Noor Muqaddam on 23rd October to remind him to give him speedy justice for the injustice done to him.
The Chairperson congratulated the Chief Justice of Pakistan on his assumption of office.

The text of the letter states that incidents like the killing of Noor Mukadam require our immediate attention and responsibility. Urgent and effective steps must be taken to reduce gender-based violence against women. The lives of victims of atrocities must be protected from threats.

Incidents like the killing of Noor Mukadam are a big question mark on the safety and welfare of women in our country.

Nilufar Bakhtiar has said that this chain of cruelty and worst violence can be stopped only by providing immediate judicial accountability and justice. A transparent judicial system and speedy justice can be a salve for women and their families who have become victims of oppression in such cases.

Please use your position and powers as Chief Justice in a positive manner to reduce such incidents. Such cases should be heard on priority basis and the culprits should be punished so that the safety of women in the society is raised. Opinions can be changed.

I hope that under your leadership, there will be a clear change in the judicial system regarding these types of cases.
