Muhammad Jalaluddin Rumi was a famous Persian poet. His real name was Muhammad Ibn Muhammad Ibn Hussain Hussaini Khatibi Bakri Balkhi.
His homeland was Balkh and Maulana Rumi was born here in 1207 AH, 6 Rabi-ul-Awal 604 AH. His lineage is described as follows: Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Bakr al-Siddiq.
Muhammad Jalaluddin Rumi received his early education from Sheikh Bahauddin.
Initially, he lived in Aleppo’s Madrasa Halawiyyah and received honorary training from Maulana Kamal-ud-Din.
Maulana Rumi was a great scholar of jurisprudence and religions in his time. But he became famous as a Sufi poet.

Maulana Rumi went to Konya at the invitation of the Seljuk Sultan Nikki and remained engaged in education and training there for about 30 years.
