ISLAMABAD, Jul 31 :Minister of State for Finance Bilal Azhar Kiyani Thursday praised the strengthening of the bilateral partnership between Pakistan and the United States, describing it as a historic trade deal that will not only boost exports but also mark a diplomatic triumph for the Pakistani government.
In an exclusive interview with a local news channel, the state minister acknowledged that the deal was a result of years of hard work and dedication from both Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and the Finance Ministry.
He emphasized that this achievement was no easy task, crediting the leadership and collaboration of key officials for overcoming numerous challenges.
Highlighting the extensive efforts, the Minister pointed out that US investment interests had been nurtured through months of discussions, particularly through the tireless efforts of Muhammad Urangzeb, who engaged US officials in crucial meetings.
Bilal Azhar Kiyani further noted that the finalization of this agreement represented a monumental diplomatic victory, which will lead to long-term economic growth.
He also commended Prime Minister’s diplomatic initiatives, which he believes will have a lasting impact on Pakistan’s economic stability and growth.
The minister expressed optimism that the strengthened ties between the two nations would create positive, far-reaching results for Pakistan, benefiting the common people through enhanced economic opportunities and exports.
Responding to a question about India, he stated that India’s goal of isolating Pakistan on the global stage has now been thwarted, leaving India disappointed and demoralized.
He pointed out that instead of facing isolation, Pakistan has moved forward with a stronger diplomatic stance, gaining popularity not only with the United States but with several other countries as well, adding, this, he attributed to the current government’s successful policies and the positive outcomes of meetings, such as the one between General Asim Munir and U.S. President Donald Trump.
In his concluding remarks, he emphasized that these achievements both diplomatic and trade-related mark a significant milestone for Pakistan and represent a triumph in its foreign policy efforts.
