HYDERABAD, Sep 29 (APP):A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the University of Sindh and Professor Amena Khamisani Education Assistance (PAKEA) under which the assistance will provide scholarships to the female students of the Institute of English Language and Literature (IELL) continuously for three years.
The agreement was signed by Director Finance Syed Zainul Abidin Shah and Director Students Financial Aid Office Dr Fiza Qureshi on behalf of the University of Sindh, while the focal person Dr Rafia Sheikh and Director Finance Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences Nadeem Shakur Javeri signed MoU on behalf of Professor Amena Khamisani Education Assistance.
University of Sindh Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro was also present at the ceremony held at the Vice Chancellor’s Office.
According to the agreement, the scholarship amount will cover the full tuition fee, hostel and library fees and monthly stipend of the beneficiary students. In the first academic year 2022, two female students one from bachelor and second from master programme would receive scholarships on the recommendations of a committee to be formed by the Vice-Chancellor.
Afterwards, two more candidates from bachelor and masters programmes will be included for the scholarship slots every year. The procedures and terms and conditions for selection of female students for scholarships have also been included in the agreement.
According to the university spokesman, as a result of the efforts taken by the Vice Chancellor University of Sindh as many as 14 different government and non-government scholarships are being given to the students of the university and after receiving these scholarships, the varsity management will be offering 15 scholarships for students.
