Pakistan Peoples Party workers convention held, workers stressed for unity

CHITRAL: Pakistan Peoples Party Workers Convention was organized in a local hotel. Apart from youth, senior workers also participated in this convention of party workers. The party workers presented their grievances as well as suggestions to strengthen the party. The convention also pointed out the shortcomings of the party leadership and suggested ways to make the party functional by removing these mistakes.

Some activists suggested that if the party gets a chance in the next elections, a reserved seat from the Kailash tribe should also be approved for the Assembly as Kailash promotes tourism not only in Chitral but in the entire country. Muhammad Hakeem Advocate General Secretary PPP welcomed the guests in his welcome address and also appreciated the services of the party for Chitral. He said that when Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto came to Chitral for the first time, he went to the poor instead of influential people and he proved that this party is the party of the poor.


Addressing the convention, the speakers slammed the present government, saying that inflation in the country has made the lives of poor people miserable and people are being forced to commit suicide. They said that previous governments had sanctioned billions of rupees for construction of Garm Chashma Road, Bonny Road and i Kailash valley Road in Chitral but the schemes were canceled by the government. They alleged that in the present government, Chitral was deprived of CPEC taken to Swat. They said that most of the development works done in Chitral during the rule of PPP.
Speakers on the occasion urged the workers to come to Peshawar fully prepared for the November 22 rally and make the elected rulers work by attending the rally. During the convention, many people left other political parties and joined the Pakistan People’s Party.


On the occasion, PPP provincial president and former provincial finance minister Engineer Humayun Khan, member of the executive committee and former federal minister Najamuddin Khan, former deputy speaker National Assembly and provincial general secretary Faisal Karim Kundi, Sami Khan provincial president of the People’s Youth Organization, Hidayatullah, Central President People’s Unity, former Provincial Minister and District President Chitral Saleem Khan, Qazi Faisal Ahmed, Burhan Shah Advocate and others expressed their views.

Talking to our correspondent, former Member Provincial Assembly and Provincial Minister for family planning Saleem Khan, District President, said that the convention was to hear from the workers and based on their suggestions, a plan of action would be worked out for the next elections. He said that the convention also emphasized on the preparations for the PDM meeting which would be attended by workers from here via Dir and Malakand to Peshawar. A large number of party workers attended the convention.
