Government of Azad Kashmir would soon enact legislation to give the right to vote to Kashmiris living abroad: Prime Minister AJK

ISLAMABAD: (PID AJK) The Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi has said that the government of Pakistan has achieved historic success by passing a record 33 laws in a single day in the recently held joint session of the Parliament.

Talking to various delegations here he said the opposition stands completely exposed and its efforts aimed at destabilizing the country have miserably failed. He highly appreciated the political acumen of the Prime Minister Imran Khan and expressed the optimism that the federal government of PTI would not only complete its 5-year constitutional term but also win the next elections.

The Prime Minister highly commended the role of the overseas Pakistani in materializing the dream of a new Pakistan and added that the revolutionary decision to give them the right to vote reflects the courageous leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan. He said his government in Azad Kashmir would soon enact legislation to give the right to vote to Kashmiri living abroad.

He said overseas Kashmiri were the ambassadors of the Kashmiri people and played a vibrant role for projecting the Kashmir issue in its true perspective at international level. The Prime Minister said that about one million citizens of Azad Kashmir live in Europe, especially in the United Kingdom while half a million live or work in the Middle East, North America and Canada.

He said that they have been playing a significant role in the economic and social development of Azad Kashmir.He said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has promised in its election manifesto that it would give the right to vote to overseas Kashmiris and this promise will be fulfilled soon and added the bill in this regard will also be introduced in the Legislative Assembly of Azad Jammu and Kashmir after the decision of Parliament.
