When people become stake holders to save the country then it is biggest national security: PM Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD, Jan 14 (Online): Prime Minister Imran Khan has said we go to IMF under compulsion and the burden has to be put on the people to meet the conditionalities.

“The country was not stabilized economically in the past. National security has been made clear in National Security Policy (NSP) in true perspective.

The respective national document was prepared with hard work. It is my endeavor people and the state should tread on one track”, he said this while launching the public version of the first ever National Security Policy of Pakistan, here on Friday.

He went on to say that the way security forces made the country secure in war on terror I pay tribute to them. The forces which could not make their country secure you can see the plight of these countries. We are lucky we have an organized and the best trained force.

Citing to IMF he said if you have to go to IMF after every short spell of time then your security will be affected. It has never been considered in the economy that how we have to make ourselves secure.

He held if the economy gets weakened then the defence will too grow weak.

When our growth rate goes up then we have to face current account deficit, he indicated.

We go to IMF under the compulsion as it is only IMF is left in the last which helps us and provides us cheaper loans, he remarked. We have to accept their conditionalities. What conditions we accept then we has to put burden on the people.

He went on to say standing by the people with you is the biggest security. When people become stake holders to save the country then it is the biggest national security.

It is our full endeavor to lift the lower segments of the society, he asserted.

He remarked every welfare state takes the responsibility of its marginalized section of society. Our top priority is provide protect the lower class of the society.

We provided security to every family through health card. The provinces where PTI government is in place we are providing health insurance therein. Sehat card is being provided in all provinces except Sindh. In the past the bank did not extend loan to the common man.

Prime Minister explained that the foremost aim of our foreign policy and military capability will remain peace and stability in the region and beyond. Our foreign policy will also focus much more on economic diplomacy going forward.
National Security Adviser Dr Moeed Yusuf in his remarks briefly explained the National Security Policy vision and thanked the Prime Minister and all officials for their constant support.

Dr Moeed Yusuf said that the National Security Policy has taken a broad view of national security as both traditional and non-traditional issues impacted our security.

While the National Security Policy is centered around economic security, the geo-strategic and geo-political imperatives also feature prominently to strengthen Pakistan security and standing in the world, he remarked.
He highlighted that this was a document finalized after full civil-military consensus.
