ISLAMABAD, JAN 24 (ONLINE): Islamabad High Court (IHC) has been informed US has rejected mercy appeal of Dr Aafia Siddiqui.
Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan said in his remarks US is showing us our worth to us. Former president forgave sentence of his son but our prisoner (Aafia) was not released.
He gave these remarks Friday during hearing of the petition regarding Dr Aafia Siddiqui release and her return to Pakistan here Friday.
The report containing details of foreign visits of Prime Minister (PM) and Foreign Minister (FM) was presented in the court.
Foreign ministry filed report in the court containing replies to the questions of court.
The court was informed that former US president Joe Biden rejected mercy appeal of Dr Aafia Siddiqui. US have refused to execute agreement with Pakistan on exchange of prisoners.
Dr Fozia Siddiqui and his US lawyer Clive Smith appeared in the court through video link.
Imran Shafiq counsel for the petitioner and Additional Attorney General (AAG) too appeared in the court.
