U.S. Imposes New Sanctions on Iran, Blacklists 13 Individuals and Multiple Entities

Washington: The United States has imposed a new round of sanctions on Iran, blacklisting 13 individuals and several entities, including Ali Ansari, an alleged financial supporter of Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei.

According to a foreign news agency, the U.S. has accused Dubai-based Iranian banker and businessman Ali Ansari of providing financial support to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and senior Iranian government officials.

The sanctions target Ali Ansari along with 13 individuals and various organizations, including three Iranian exchange houses and several front companies allegedly involved in facilitating financial transactions.

According to the U.S. Department of the Treasury, the sanctions are intended to restrict the Iranian leadership’s access to the global financial system and cut off its sources of foreign currency.
