ISLAMABAD, June 08 (Online): Speaker National Assembly (NA) Sardar Ayyaz Sadiq has issued show cause notice to 68 ghost employees in assembly secretariat.
These employees are not marking biometric attendance.
He has suspended additional secretary Yasin Salimi who was promoted against rules and regulations. Investigation has been launched against him.
According to NA secretariat biometric attendance has been made incumbent on all employees of secretariat.
Special secretary Admn Mubarak has already been sacked for making illegal appointments.
NA speaker Ayyaz Sadiq has sought reply to show cause notices from employees within 7 days.
According to NA secretariat non marking biometric attendance falls under misconduct. All the employees should ensure biometric attendance otherwise disciplinary action will be taken against them.
The employees who have been served show cause notice include project managers, managers, deputy managers, section officers, drivers, Naib Qasid and other staff members.
Speaker had received report that ghost employees are being paid salaries but they don抰 come to office. In order to trace these employees the speaker NA had directed to ensure biometric attendance. Absconding employees are working in different departments and receiving salary. No record in respect of them was available in biometric attendance.
