SC orders trial court to decide May 9 related cases within 4 months

ISLAMANBAD, APRIL 08 (ONLINE): Supreme Court (SC) has ordered trial court to decide May 9 related cases within 4 months.

The court has remarked cases of this nature are fixed for hearing next week. A detailed order will be issued after hearing all the cases. However order has been got written in this case.

Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) remarked Mashal Khan murder incident had taken place in Mardan. I was chief justice of Peshawar High Court (PHC) at that time. Trial of murder case of Mashal Khan was completed in 3 months. Anti Terrorism Court(ATC) can perform.
CJP gave these remarks during the hearing of the case Tuesday.

The case regarding revocation of bail of accused in May 9 incident came up for hearing before a 3-member bench of SC presided over by CJP Yahya Afridi Tuesday.

During the hearing the SC ordered trial court to decide May 9 cases within 4 months.

During the hearing of the case counsel for an accused said how the trial will be completed within 4 months. 35 cases are registered against us and their trial will not be completed within such short period.

The CJP remarked murder incident of Mashal Khan had taken place in Mardan. I was chief justice of PHC at that time. Trial of Mishal Khan murder case was completed within 3 months. ATC can perform.

It is pertinent to mention here SC had ordered trial court to decide within 3 months some cases related to cancellation of bail a day before.
