ISLAMABAD / LAHORE â November 6 (ONLINE) Former Prime Minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan on Sunday announced his party will resume marching towards Islamabad this Tuesday from the very point in Punjabâs Wazirabad where he was shot at.
Imranâs âHaqiqi Azadi Marchâ was disrupted couple of days ago when the former Prime Ministerâs caravan was targeted by some armed culprits, killing one PTI worker and injuring few, including Imran himself. The PTI Chairman since then has been treated at Lahoreâs Shaukat Khanum hospital, and was later on Sunday discharged after he recovered.
Addressing a press conference after presiding over a partyâs consultative meeting, the PTI Chairman announced their long march will resume on Tuesday from Wazirabad. âWe have decided that our march will resume on Tuesday from the same [point] in Wazirabad where I and 11 others were shot, and where Moazzam was martyred,â Imran said. âI will address the march from here (in Lahore), and our march, within the next 10 to 14 days, depending on the speed, will reach Rawalpindi.
Reacting to militaryâs latest statement in which his allegations have been called âfrivolousâ, Imran Khan said construing his criticism of one army officer to the whole institution was akin to saying that calling out one judge or corrupt PTI worker meant blaming the whole judiciary or party.
âI was surprised that DG ISPR gave that statement that because Imran Khan accused one army officer then all army is being maligned. Iâm surprised DG sahab, have you paid attention to what youâre saying?â
It is pertinent to mention here that Imran Khan has been accusing three people for plotting assassination attempt on him â The Prime Minister, Interior Minister and a very senior military personal. Replying to his allegations, ISPR on Saturday had called Imranâs claims âbaseless and frivolousâ.
Taking up on the issue of inability to launch First Information Report (FIR) of his assassination attempt, the former Prime Minister said authorities in Punjab are refusing to file an FIR over the attack on his container unless he removes the military officialâs name from it.
âItâs been three days and Punjab government â which is a coalition government â but despite that we have not been able to register an FIR because they say âits okay we are ready [to file] against PM and Interior Minister but you canât do it for that army general, Major Faisal.ââ
