Pakistan, Qatar say “positive progress” made in US-Iran talks in Doha

ISLAMABAD, Jul 2 (APP): Pakistani and Qatari mediators on Wednesday concluded separate meetings with United States and Iranian negotiators in Doha, reporting “positive progress” on the issues related to the aspects of Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). “Qatari and Pakistani mediators concluded separate meetings with the US and Iranian negotiators in Doha today, with positive progress made on issues related to the aspects of the Islamabad MOU, building on the Lake Lucerne Summit,” according to a Foreign Office statement.

It said that the parties have agreed to continue discussions over the coming period, with the next meeting to be set at the earliest possible time following the funeral processions of the former Iranian Supreme Leader. The Government of Qatar also issued an identical statement following the separate meetings with the negotiators from the US and Iran.
