ISLAMABAD – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa held one-on-one meetings with Commander Bahrain Nation Guard Field Marshal Mohammed Bin Isa Al Khalifa and Bahrain National Security Advisor Major General Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa during his visit to Bahrain on Tuesday (March 9).
“During the meetings, issues of mutual interest and regional security situation came under discussion,” says a press release issued by the Pakistan Army’s media wing on Wednesday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate, COAS offered Pakistan’s complete support in achieving shared interests in bilateral security cooperation including training and capacity building.
Later, delegation level talks were also held, where current developments in Afghan peace process, border security and necessary steps to be undertaken to facilitate an Afghan-led and Afghan owned peace process were discussed.
Uzbek FM calls on Army Chief
Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov called on Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa in Rawalpindi today (Wednesday).
Matters of mutual interest, overall regional situation including Afghan Peace Process and bilateral cooperation in various fields were discussed.

Both sides reiterated the desire to further enhance bilateral relations including efforts for peace and security in the region. The visiting dignitary appreciated Pakistan’s positive role for regional peace and stability, especially Afghan Peace Process and pledged to keep working for better relations between two brotherly countries.
Cricketers meet COAS
Meanwhile, Former West Indian Cricketer Daren Julius Garvey Sammy, former South African Cricketer Hashim Mahomed Amla, former Pakistani Cricketer Muhammad Akram and owner of Peshawar Zalmi franchise Javed Afridi called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa in Rawalpindi on Wednesday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, the COAS appreciated the dignitaries for their contributions for bringing international cricket to Pakistan and being the ambassadors of peace.
He congratulated the cricketers on success and growth of Pakistan Super League (PSL) and expressed hope that it recommences early for much-awaited jubilation of the entire country.
The visiting dignitaries also shared experience of their visit to different parts of Pakistan and seeing Pakistan as a beautiful and peaceful country.
