ISLAMABAD, May 15 (Online): National Assembly (NA) has passed motion for filing reference against Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Ata Bandial.
The motion was tabled by Shazia Sobia Soomro. It has been said in the motion that special committee should work out reference against CJP. The proceedings against him should be initiated under misconduct.
The routine proceedings of the assembly were suspended before motion. NA approved the motion.
NA speaker constituted committee under Mohsin Nawaz Ranjha.
The other members of committee are Khurshid Junejo, Salah ud Din Ayubi, Shahnaz Baloch and Salah ud Din.
Speaker NA can make changes in the members of special committee.
The committee will be authorized to take action against other judges under misconduct.
