RAWALPINDI, APRIL 09 (ONLINE): In the case of kidnapping and murdering US national former wife, court has ordered to keep hanging the husband on hangman noose till his death.
The court has awarded death sentence and Rs 5 lac fine to former husband Rizwan Habib for kidnapping and killing his wife.
According to media reports, the court awarded 10 years imprisonment and one lac rupees penalty to him in the offence of kidnapping. Likewise sentence of 7 years in jail and fine of Rs one lac was announced for removing evidence of case.
Co-accused Sultan was awarded punishment of 7 years in jail and one lac fine.
The court ordered that the culprit be kept hanging on hang man noose till the time he breaths his last.
3 diplomats of US embassy and one FBI officer were present on the occasion of announcement of decision.
US diplomats expressed satisfaction over award of sentence.
The culprit was shifted to Adiala jail under stringent security measures following the announcement of decision by the court.
It is pertinent to mention here property dispute of billion of rupees of the culprit was running with his former wife Wajih Swati. All the property was owned by Wajih Swati. The accused had occupied this property forcibly. The accused had called former wife from US to Pakistan under the pretext of reconciliation. She came in Pakistan on October 16, 2021.
The accused murdered Wajih Swati on her arrival in Pakistan. He took the body from Rawalpindi to KP and buried her therein.
The accused enacted the drama of misplacement of her Wajih Swati. Later police arrested him and he divulged the secret of murder. He got recovered body from KP.
Abdullah son of the victim Wajih Swati had registered online FIR in police station Morgah from US.
In this case the culprit was awarded death sentence earlier but high court had remanded the case.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Chaudhry Majid Hussain Gadi awarded death sentence on Wednesday again . US FBI team and diplomats kept on pursuing the case on every hearing.
Postmortem was again conducted before shifting body from Pakistan to US. US forensic laboratory had sent report to Pakistan declaring violence as reason for death.
