LHC ascertains defamation of Shahbaz, Imran in Daily Mail case

London High Court (LHC) judge declared that words used for PMLN president Shahbaz Shareef and his son-in-law Imran Ali Yousaf in Daily Mail article can be considered bringing defamation under UK law if not defended by publishers.

Justice Sir Matthew Nicklin said the Sunday’s article on Daily Mail claiming that PLMN president corrupted the taxpayer’s money in Britain indicates defamatory meanings to the identity of both Shahbaz Shareef and Imran Ali Yousaf.

According to the sources, the Justice Matthew declared that the defamatory article written by David Rose falls under the considerations of “Chase Level 1 defamation” of the English Law as the article directly raised allegation of vivid corruption with out giving any benefit of doubt.

It is pertinent to be stated here, that publication of article of David Rose on July 14, 2019 mentioned Shahbaz and his son-in-law to be involved in money-laundering and robbing British money in the name of helping poor in Pakistan.

Moreover, Daily Mail has filled a petition of contesting that words used in the article are not defamatory and do hold enough evidences to challenge the verdict of London High Court (LHC).
