RIYADH, Mar 9 (SPA/APP): UNESCO marked International Women’s Day, observed annually on March 8, highlighting the role of the International Center for Artificial Intelligence Research and Ethics (ICAIRE).
Operating under the auspices of UNESCO in Riyadh, ICAIRE is committed to building an inclusive global AI ecosystem and empowering women in advanced technologies. The observance reflects efforts to support women’s equal access to education and their advancement across development sectors.
UNESCO Director-General Dr. Khaled El-Enany stressed the importance of women assuming responsibilities in the public sector, accessing economic resources, and participating in cultural and scientific life to support global sustainable development.
In line with this vision, ICAIRE has launched several initiatives, including the “Elevate” program. The initiative attracted 30,000 participants from more than 100 countries and provided advanced training to develop women’s skills in artificial intelligence. It also aims to build a global network of female technology leaders and strengthen women’s participation in innovation and responsible AI development.
