GUJRANWALA: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan’s container was fired upon near Allahwala Chowk in Wazirabad.
According to Khurram Shehzad, correspondent of Urdu News in Wazirabad, when PTI’s long march reached the office of Rescue 1122 in Wazirabad city, an unknown armed person opened fire on the container containing Imran Khan, Senator Faisal Javed and PTI. Some workers were injured.
PTI Secretary General Asad Umar while talking to the local media confirmed that Imran Khan was shot the leg but his condition is out of danger. According to Asad Umar, six people have been injured in this incident.
He said that Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Ahmed Chatta and manager Rashid are seriously injured.
After the firing, the long march has been stopped while Rescue 1122 personnel immediately provided medical aid to the injured and shifted them to the hospital.
According to the correspondent, announcements are being made from the container at this time, Imran Khan is safe and will soon return to the Long March.
According to preliminary reports received earlier, a few people were injured in the firing incident that took place on Thursday afternoon.
After the shooting, the Long March was stampeded and people could be seen running around in scenes broadcast on local news channels.
