Week-long Mehfil-e-Shabeena begins at Shah Faisal Mosque

ISLAMABAD, Mar 10 (APP):The week-long Mehfil-e-Shabeena commenced Tuesday night at Shah Faisal Mosque, Islamabad, under the auspices of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

Huffaz selected from across the provinces will lead Taraweeh prayers at the mosque from the 21st to the 27th night of Ramazan. On the 27th night, a special prayer will be offered to mark the completion of the Holy Qur’an.

During the Mehfil-e-Shabeena at Shah Faisal Mosque, four to five Paras of the Holy Qur’an are recited each night. The seven-day event is being broadcast live by Pakistan Television National and Radio Pakistan.

The annual Mehfil-e-Shabeena is held during the last Ashra of Ramazan and attracts large numbers of worshippers who come to listen to the recitation and offer special night prayers.
